Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks

ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks is a new design concept that was founded by Kyle Barnett whilst studying architecture at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, 2004. He later brought the concept back to his native Canada where the initial prototypes were completed in 2006 and endured vigorous product testing to determine the best possible materials for construction.

Production initiated from the back of a surfboard manufacturing warehouse in New Zealand and marketing continued for the next three years in some of the world’s harshest climates. The first Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammock design was rigorously tested with extreme U.V. rays and torrential downpours. As testament to the quality of our design and materials those hammocks still receive great customer reviews today.

In 2011 Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks moved its headquarters to Bali, Indonesia and further improved their design by integrating teak construction facilities in Central Java, Indonesia where the world’s finest teak plantations exist.

In 2015 Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks incorporated another astounding product the Skyweaver Air Chair. This suspended design offers the same great comfort, style and durability as its predecessor, although takes up less space and offers an affordable price.

With solid teak construction and marine grade finishing Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks and Skyweaver Air Chair are suitable for all environments. Adequately robust to handle any outdoor extreme conditions, yet sophisticated so they enhance any indoor space.

Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks is now offering wholesale marketing to retail outlets and hotels /resorts around the globe. We take pride in providing premium comfort and continue to work with our clients to improve and create new designs. We only source the finest materials, and pay close attention to detail.

VERSATILITY

STRENGTH

With no internal knots Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks are designed to withstand excessive loads.

BENEFITS OF TEAK WOOD

Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks only uses certified government plantation teak from Java, Indonesia. Javanese teak is considered to be the optimal performance wood for outdoor construction. Considered among many to be the most durable outdoor furniture in the world. It requires very little or no care, and will last for many decades.

  • High oil and rubber content (weatherproof)
  • Low maintenance
  • Renewable and sustainable material (no plastics, petroleum and very little processing)

Teak’s high concentration of natural oils produces a rich brown color. Over time, exposure to the sun will naturally transform the color to a silver-grey. Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks ensures all of our raw timber is kiln dried between 7 and 14% moisture content, to guarantee it will not warp, crack or twist. We also apply premium quality wood stain and marine grade finish to protect the colors. If you wish you can re-coat the wood when visually needed, or allow it to turn to it’s natural grey-silver over time. This does not affect the integrity of the wood.

Teak is a renewable resource that is replaced after it is processed. Dreamweaver Hardwood Hammocks donates 1% of our profits to charities that promote reforestation.
